Quick Reflections and Resolutions — Five Weeks from Progress Review 3

I got out of bed around 12:00 yesterday. It’s the first time I’ve gotten up so late since recovering from my last depressive phase last year. (related post).

Despite completing my internship and finding an apartment to move into, I felt stressed about the upcoming progress review scheduled for June 26th, just five weeks from now. My supervisor was disappointed in my progress and my failure to report the work I did last Monday. I requested to skip the meeting today. To be honest, I’ve done too little on the project, resulting in extremely slow progress. I need to speed up.

I recalled how I overcame negative thoughts and feelings around ten months ago:

  1. Get up earlier
  2. Get some sunlight first thing in the morning
  3. Exercise
  4. Journal, as I am doing now
  5. Eat healthy food

To recover, I need to pick myself up and get the work done. The only way to relieve anxiety is by taking action.
