I want to share some tools I believe are helpful for thesis writing. I hope I have known them from the very beginning of my research study.

1. Find paper

I stick to Google Scholar and Google.

It took me a long time to realise I could find the top journals and read their papers at least every week—especially the ones you want to publish your work.

2. Organise paper

I use Mendeley. I have written an article comparing EndNote, Mendeley and Zotero.

3. Mindmap and notes

The best might be XMind, but I use paper and pen to draw the mindmaps.

For notes, I go to Notion. Again I love handwriting for critical concepts, but there are so many articles online, and Notion could be an excellent place to save the links and organise them.
