Well, you might already know, 10 times is because I earned close to nothing at the very beginning. Exactly! My income increased from $2.2 in Jan 2022 to $29.8 last month. Although a really small income, it’s passive. I post once a week before July, and twice to three times later on, because I noticed the income increased. I didn’t focus on any specific topic and just reflected on what I had learned in plain words.
Why did I start writing, and what happened?
In the beginning, I wrote to fight procrastination(instant rewards of seeing people read my post, kind of making some contribution in my opinion) and maintain a blog which I could list on my resume. To my surprise, there was increasing income as I wrote more articles. Currently, I post twice a week on average. I will continue to do so for the rest of this year, and see what will happen.
Three posts per week is my goal for 2023 in the hope of reaching $100 per month. I read this post, and it says less than 10% of writers on Medium earn more than $100, so I think $100 is enough for me. I’d like to set up more income streams(I also launched an Etsy 3D printing shop this August, Turning My 3D Printing Hobby into a Small Business) rather than focusing on writing, which is not my profession.
